The History of Sports & Entertainment Media, LLC

Just exactly what does Sports & Entertainment Media, LLC do and why is it such a thriving business?

It’s simple: Going on for four decades Sports & Entertainment Media, LLC has been one of the country’s premier communications organizations in the world of auto racing. Whether it’s public or sponsor relations, television and radio production, live streaming or the marketing and sales of the in-car camera, Sports & Entertainment Media, LLC has it covered. Our success comes from an incomparable work ethic – we can promise you nobody will outwork us — and dedication to delivering unparalleled exposure for our clients.
We believe that a client’s success is our success. When the client is happy and content, not only does the relationship grow, it flourishes because who doesn’t want to share with their friends and family when they’ve finally found the right company with which to do business?image copy 2
Treating people well, working hard, always going the extra mile and always putting the client first – those were the key elements in Lyn Jeffers’ business plan back in the ‘70s. Throw in his love and passion for auto racing, a public relations background and a degree in Communications and Jeffers’ had a solid foundation for his company.

In the ‘60s, Jeffers pulled double duty at the Johnson City Press in Johnson City, Tenn., as both a sportswriter and a political writer. He then honed his public relations skills by handling PR for Sugar Mountain, Ski Beech, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain and The Land of Oz, all successful tourist attractions in the Boone, N.C. area. Soon it became obvious to Jeffers that his vast knowledge of auto racing and its history, combined with his PR expertise, love of people and ability to quickly make lasting friendships, would serve him well in starting his own business.

And from the very beginning, with the launch of Lyn Jeffers & Associates, to Sports and Entertainment Marketing, to Sports & Entertainment Media, LLC, Jeffers stayed true to himself and his beliefs, always knowing that a friend and a friendship was more important than simply building a long list of clients, although that too was certainly the case. That has remained true over the last 35 years. Sports & Entertainment Media, LLC not only works to gain the kind of exposure its clients clamor for, it does so while creating long and lasting relationships and friendships.

Sadly, in December of 2006, Jeffers died from complications stemming from a brain tumor. But his company, his dream and his values live on.
Today, the company is owned and operated by Lyn’s son, Andy Jeffers, who works closely with FOX Sports and NBC Sports (the two main networks that cover NASCAR). Handling the sales and the coordination of the placement of cameras in the Xfinity and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, Andy is indeed a chip off the old block. His business sense, his love for racing, his values and his love of people, mirrors those of his dad’s. He proudly carries his father’s legacy in the sport of NASCAR, remembering lessons his father taught him as he tagged along to various race tracks as a youngster.
Andy is multi-talented, adding a new dimension to the company with his knowledge of production, editing, writing and videography. He returns every football season to be component to the University of Tennessee’s VFL Films, assisting with game day and post-production projects. He also has worked on numerous television shows/projects for ESPN, the History Channel, FOX Sports Net, DIY and GAC – all adding yet another dimension to Sports & Entertainment Media, LLC. In 2014 the company has expanded into professional live streaming events for music and theatre performances, company press conferences, athletic events, private meetings and personal events. In 2016, working with Catch Multimedia, Inc., Sports & Entertainment Media, won a Southeastern Emmy for the live stream of The Avett Brothers’ Cheerwine’s Legendary Giveback IV.
